ProQuest Gains Rights to Distribute 63 Kluwer Medical Journals via ProQuest® Online Information Service
Titles enhance medical coverage in various ProQuest medical databases Divided line

ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 15, 2003 - ProQuest Company's (NYSE: PQE) Information and Learning unit announced a limited exclusive agreement with Kluwer Academic Publishers that will bring the full text of 63 medical journals to the company's ProQuest® online databases, including ProQuest Medical Library™, MEDLINE with Full Text, and other databases. The agreement allows ProQuest to electronically distribute Kluwer's journal content to educational institutions, libraries, and other markets around the world.

"We're pleased to add these prestigious, high-quality titles to our medical databases," said Roger Tritton, publisher for ProQuest Information and Learning. "This agreement represents a major commitment to ProQuest's medical publishing initiatives and enhances our offerings to academic and medical libraries."

Included are such key titles as Investigational New Drugs, Journal of Clinical Immunology, Cancer and Metastasis Reviews, Journal of Mammary Gland Biology and Neoplasia, Digestive Diseases and Sciences, and Pharmaceutical Research. Full text for all new Kluwer title additions will begin with 1999 issues and move forward. Current content will be subject to a 12-month embargo.
